FAQ - Here’s what you’re probably wondering …

  • What kind of design projects do you take on?

I specialise in illustration and book cover design, along with logo, print and packaging design. My background in pen & ink, watercolour, and graphic design means I bring both traditional art and digital design skills to your project.

  • Where are you based and do you work remotely?

I’m based in Tennessee and work out of my home-studio, so I’m used to collaborating remotely with clients anywhere. Zoom, email, and screen-sharing all work, and I’ll always send sketch previews so you’re involved every step of the way.

  • How many revisions are included?

I include three rounds of revisions in my standard package. Additional rounds can be added for a fee.

  • What payment terms do you use?

A 50% deposit is due when we sign the contract, and the remaining 50% is due upon final delivery. Payments accepted: Check, cash & Venmo.

  • How long does a project take?

Once we’ve finalized the brief and I have all assets from you, a typical illustration project takes 4-6 weeks. Graphic design projects like a logo might take 2-3 weeks. Rush jobs can be arranged for an extra fee.

  • What file types will I receive?

You’ll receive print-ready files (e.g., PDF, TIFF) and web-ready files (e.g., PNG, JPG, or SVG for logos) as needed. For illustrations I also provide high-resolution layered PSD or AI if requested.

  • Who owns the work once completed?

Once the final payment is received, you’ll receive full rights for the intended use as agreed in the contract. I retain the right to display the work in my portfolio and social media unless agreed otherwise.

  • Can I use the design/illustration for multiple projects or formats?

Usage rights are specified in the quote/contract. If you plan uses beyond what we discussed (e.g., merchandising, licensing to third parties, large-print runs) we’ll need to adjust the fee accordingly.

  • Do you ship prints and what is your return policy?

Yes, I ship art prints domestically (I DO NOT ship internationally). Prints are carefully packaged in rigid mailers to ensure safe delivery. Because prints are a one-off item (or limited edition), I do not accept returns unless the print arrives damaged. Please inspect upon arrival and contact me within 3 days.

  • Can I commission something totally custom?

bsolutely! Custom illustration is one of my favourite things. Let me know your idea, style preference, timeline and budget, and I’ll quote you accordingly. I’ll walk you through the sketch phase, refinement, approval and final delivery.

  • Do you offer licensing of existing artwork?

Yes. If you’re interested in licensing one of my existing illustrations, let’s discuss your intended use (format, duration, territory) and I’ll prepare a licensing agreement.

  • What is your design/illustration process like?

    1. We’ll begin with a discovery call to clarify your project, audience, budget and timeline.

    2. I’ll send you a proposal & contract to review and sign.

    3. After deposit, I’ll start with concept sketches (for illustration) or layout mock-ups (for design) for you to approve.

    4. Once you approve a concept, I’ll create the final full-colour version (or design files) and send for your review.

    5. After your revisions, I’ll deliver final files & invoice the balance.
